The Dodos are the musical project of two San Francisco boys (they did add a third member, a vibraphone player, in the past year). They recently released a new album, Time to Die, but I’m posting about them for another, arguably better reason.
This Friday night, The Dodos will be performing at the SFMOMA Anniversary Party. As far as I’m concerned, this shindig is going to be the friggin party of the century. As if modern art and prominent indie music wasn’t enough, the SFMOMA is also bringing in a waffle cart! It’s enough to make you want to fork out the bucks and become a full-fledged museum member. In honor of this upcoming performance, I decided to do a Dodo post. Their music blends complex acoustic guitar work with rumbling African drumming. Apparently Logan Kroeber, the drummer, plays with a tambourine taped to his shoe. I can’t wait to see that!
