Last Friday, I went to see Two Door Cinema Club perform at the Warfield. They sounded great…but what really stole the show was the opener, Grouplove. How Grouplove came to be is made for TV movie glory. Here is the abridged version.
Two New Yorkers randomly meet and instantly click. However, one is about to do an art residency in a remote mountain village in Greece. Not wanting to leave her new friend, she invites her along. While in Greece, they meet the rest of their future band. Eventually, the residency came to an end and they all had to say goodbye. Once back in their respective cities, they all missed one another so everyone moved to LA and started recording music!
Their free loving sound is addictive. Missing summer? Grouplove will transport you!
